Invisalign® for Teens
Clear aligners that give you a beautiful, straight smile without metal brackets and wires
The face and jaw undergo many changes in development during adolescence, making this an ideal time for correcting many orthodontic problems. Many teens want this correction process to be discreet as possible, leading to the popularity of orthodontic solutions such as Invisalign®.
At Fredericksburg Orthodontics, we provide comprehensive orthodontic care for patients of all ages. Our patient and knowledgeable staff is looking forward to helping your teen achieve the smile of their dreams today.
Is Your Teen a Good Candidate for Invisalign?
If your teen is considering Invisalign, it’s important to consider factors such as their level of responsibility before selecting this option. Your teen has to be responsible enough to wear their Invisalign for the required amount of time and not lose their aligner when they remove it to eat or drink.
Additional factors also require consideration, such as the current condition of your teen’s teeth and if they have any jaw abnormalities. If your teen needs more than a simple alignment, you may want to consider other options like metal or ceramic braces. The best way to know if your teen is a good candidate for Invisalign is by talking to Dr. Almy or Dr. Pratt. Our orthodontists can answer questions and walk you through the entire treatment process.

How Invisalign Teen Works
Our Invisalign treatment for teens is similar to Invisalign for adults with some modifications. We’ll capture a 3D image of your teen’s teeth to make a mold for their aligners. Your teen will wear this aligner throughout the day and night while making sure to remove it while eating or drinking.
One of the main features of Invisalign for teens is that our aligners feature a small blue dot that changes color to clear or white based on how much your teen wears their aligner. This dot helps orthodontists ensure your teen is wearing their aligner for the correct amount of time.
All Invisalign treatments require patients to switch out their aligner every few weeks as their teeth slowly move into position. With Invisalign Teen, the number of replacement aligners increases. Due to their active lifestyles, many teens misplace or break their aligners. These additional aligners will ensure your teen’s treatment plan stays on track.
