Dr. Mari Arroyo-Pratt is an orthodontist serving the community in Central Virginia. She grew up in San Juan, Puerto Rico and is fluent in Spanish. Dr. Arroyo-Pratt graduated magna cum laude from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Neuroscience, with a minor concentration in French. In pursuit of her dental degree, Mari Arroyo-Pratt obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, PA, with honors in 1995. Dr. Arroyo-Pratt received her Certificate of Orthodontics in 1997 from the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Dentistry.
Dr. Mari Arroyo-Pratt loves working with tweens and teens. Orthodontics provides the perfect opportunity to work with young patients and get to know and often treat the parents. Dr. Arroyo-Pratt enjoys practicing orthodontics in patients at various stages of dental development and collaborating with other dental professionals as part of a holistic approach to dental care.
Dr. Arroyo-Pratt enjoys watching the transformation of a patient’s bite and witnessing the positive impact it has both on their dental health and self-esteem. She experiences a great deal of satisfaction and accomplishment when a patient is getting his or her braces off, and she sees the smiles and hears the kind compliments from relatives. She invests in getting to know her patients by taking a genuine interest in their hobbies and dreams and forms lasting bonds with families.
When not caring for patients, Dr. Arroyo-Pratt resides in Glen Allen, VA, with her husband, two children and a spunky miniature dachshund. She enjoys living in Central Virginia and being close to great shopping, dining, sports, and entertainment venues. She also loves going back to visit relatives in Puerto Rico and enjoying the breathtaking beaches, mountains, delicious food and wonderful music.
